Iconic Designer - A Masterpiece Made
Charles Eames.
Another great designer.
A designer of modern iconic furniture, especially chairs.
So someone with imagination put together a video that shows one of Eames's chairs being made.
And they added some terrific music to it.
Eileen Gray Chair Reaches The Stratosphere
She was Irish.
She was a pioneer in modern furniture design.
She was at the top of her game in the 1920s and 1930s.
She is considered the equivalent of modern icons of design such as Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer.
Her tubular steel furniture was revolutionary in its day, and is now accepted as classic.
She had two careers.
Her first one was designing furniture.
Her second one was that of an architect.
We wrote about her in the February edition of ...by Design.
One of her chairs recently was auctioned off at Christie's in London.
The price it fetched, was out in the stratosphere - way beyond what the best estimates had been.

Streets all over Metro Vancouver are decked out in festive colours of light pink and white.
Gorgeous cherry blossoms are blooming.
It is something to behold, especially streets with huge trees that arch into one another.
The festival is on right now and you can enjoy it and lots of the festivities associated with it until April 24.
